I Miss Ana Log (Planetariums)

Back in 1924
There came a brand new thing
In Germany a man called Zeiss
Was planetarium king
But analog’s turned to dig
Now we have to cry
For the starlight would fizz
And the romance died

Forward to the 60’s,
Adler was the place we could hang
We couldn’t get enough
From backyards to the very big bang
Soon my telescope youth
Was an astro fest
and that dream would take root
And i felt so blest
Missing planet-TAY-ria
Why’d they have to change
What was already fine
Im just here to say to ya  and say and say
Bringing back the analog stars
Soon became the passion of my mind

Never mind your digi stuff
Its out of step you see
Anna Log is my new dear
you’ll fall down on your knees

Now I build my own
My star projectors cover it all
My own constellations
Covering the ceiling and walls
When technology fails
Cause it just moves on
Then we grab what was best
And we take it along

Planetarians Delight
Planetarians Delight (Live Version)

Ole Ron Walker, and ole Gare Likert too
Was sitting on their porch
With nothing better to do
Till they reached in the past
in their memory’s haze
and a long lost dream
From the Adler days
then their hearts were flung
To the depths of the sky
There came a gleam in them ole boys eyes
It was a Planetarian’s Delight

They were astounded
For none had foreseen
That a star projector and dome
Could appear on their scene
Now some folks might blather
bout the cost that they met
but the stuff they gathered
was a good junk bet
Now you may be wondering
If this story’s untrue    hey
You never know what a dream can do …

And when they opened
No sound could be heard
But the whole world holding its breath
About what had occurred
All that building drilling
Well it took a long time
Now their seats keep filling
For their stars are sublime
And for ages to come
We’ll all look to their skies
In the depths where their dream still flies
It was a Planetarian’s Delight

On That Bright Lake Michigan Shore

Never thought I’d pass this way again
Rolling up that 59
In search of a long lost friend
Never dared to hope that I would find for sure
Those stars I cant forget
It was many years before
On the bright Lake Michigan shore
And a wind and a prayer
And I hope that they’re still there
Shining like before
On that bright Lake Michigan Shore

Summer afternoons without a care
Sitting neath that monster bright
With a magic in the air
Does a circle come round anymore
Can a lost dream be found at that door

Look now!  dont fade away
Dreams can carry to another day
Look now, are they strong
Dreams can linger in the lost and found

And I remember that gasp!
Lord how we gasped ..

People say you can never go back again
But I’m driving up this coastline
And my heart remembers when
We were always there
With a magic in the air
May they shine forever more
On that bright Lake Michigan shore

Look now,  don’t fade away!
Stars can linger to another day

Point Blank

Since I was boy been
missing the Adler
Threw away my toys
Was considerably sadder
When we moved I missed those stars
And I was feeling blue

I got a cake box, flash light
And darkened my digs
Through the pinholes came a sight and
I was flipping my wig
And now I’m point blank
Diggin my stars
I know that you will too

Now dontcha see I’m coming point blank
Throwing up the stars so bright
I’m leaning back
Cause I do it right
Projecting point blank
All the con-stellation pictures sublime
Well you can go outside
And try that big REAL sky
But all these crazy city lights are
Gonna make you cry
So come on point blank
In my dome, I’ll show you what to do

Now I am a man
Still projecting the fables
Legends and the stars
From celestial tables
Man I got a big ol dome
I started HPA …
You can visit my place
My stars are here on loan
Or you can find a darkened space and
And you can build all your own, so just start
Point blank projecting  on your ceiling dome today!
Point blank making those stars, there’s nothing in your way

heres to Richard E   (dedicated to Richard Emmons, the father of Home Planetaria)

Here’s to you Richard E
May you live in history
There was a strong undying purpose
In your style

You invented your own sky
We are kindreds, you and I
Blending knowledge with such feeling
Un-denied
So here’s to Richard E

What’s down under or up over
It depends on point of view
And how we share common sky
And common ground

Are the now and then so different
It depends on what we do
To keep your legacy alive
With all we’ve found

So here’s to you Richard E
Your stars are more than memory
It’s as if we’ve always known you
So we say

You live in spirit and in words
And you’ll always be heard
And your
 ever guiding presence
Here we see
So here’s to Richard E

A Scene Pristine (Beyond 6th Mag)

You never wanted to believe
There’d come a day when you could find the door
You never wanted to believe
that you were missing so much more
But it seems to me, there,s always more to see
Like the stars reflection in a winters snow
Shining strong you know,  they can always glow
Like the cool reflection of a winters dressing

A Scene Pristine
You say you’ve never been
But have you looked up there
To Nature’s beauty scheme
You’re always playing out your melodramas
But deep inside what are you waiting for?

Beyond sixth mag
You say its not your bag?
To seek the deeper things
So your attention’s lagged
Your’e always playing out your endless traumas
But deep inside you know you yearn for more

And it seems to me, you’re the one I see
who let their dreams have limits
so they just can’t flow
Dreams are strong you know
They can always grow
Like the cool reflection of the stars best blessings

Remembering Milky Way (Final Version)

I once had a horse called Milky Way
A light coat fringed with black
He was a bay
Remembering Milky Way
Remembering Milky Way

I never rode him up where air is clear
On mountain top he’d fall, that was my fear
Remembering Milky Way

But then one night he broke his stall
I searched all night, no hope at all
I finally heard him crying down to me

I climbed up where the stars were bright
Reflecting off his coat just right
I knew right then just what his name should be

I once had a horse called Milky Way
And on his back the stars lived every day
Remembering Milky Way
Remembering Milky Way

The Ballad of Ron-go  (Karaoke - Ringo)

In a desert not so parched
In a conference held in Marched
On the edge of a Creek so bold
That came out of a Cave of old

To the one that was the best
His triangles surpassed the rest
But it will be a very long ride
To see Ron-go

Its a Bob!  Its a Bob!
Its a two sided sword
With a magic touch
One shines north
The other, not so much
It can do stars so large
But you know it depends on
Who's in charge
When you stand fast and snark
You know who you need in that dark
You need Ron-go

Desperate Garo,
why don't you stop riding ranges? You been out makin changes for so long now
Oh, you're a crazed one
But you know you moved too many couches
and now your back slouches
and  it hurts you somehow

Don't you sell the Stephen Smith boy
His skies are very stable
You know the Armand Spitzballs always second best

Now, it seems to me these aint toys
that have been laid upon your table
But you only want that Zeiss that you can't get

Desperate Garo

why don't you stop all your cheatin
and put in some heating , tear down that shack
it may be raining so you need a dry roof above you
you better let some big dome love you
you better let some big dome love you
and that's just a fact
